A walk in the park to a wiz at a quiz

On the Easter bank holiday weekend, members of Redbridge Plus went for a very pleasant walk in Goodmayes Park and then met up on their group night for a great night of quizzing.

The walk in Goodmayes Park was very pleasant. On entering the park we came across a scenic pond full of a variety of different birds. There were Egyptian geese walking towards the water with their young, very cute little goslings. One of the goslings became very brave, jumping into the water before his parents. The geese then joined him and floated gracefully along the water. On the island in the pond there was a heron just standing and watching the other birds. There were also many pigeons, which flew right up above our heads. We then went over the bridge where we could l
ook at both sides of the pond. As we walked further into the park, we came across numerous trees and tried to guess what some of them were called. We ended this most pleasant walk with an ice cream from the cafe.

We then met up again for our regular group night at the Community Centre and had a tremendous evening with an "Impossible" quiz which was based on the popular TV quiz show Impossible. We had to provide answers to multiple questions and try to give the impossible answers meaning the ones that no-one else had thought of. It was a challenge but lots of fun.

Finally, at the weekend we attended a quiz night held by a local walking group called EFOG. The rounds ranged from pop music to saints and sinners to science fiction. There was a topic suitable for everyone on the team. To everyone's delight we came top and won the quiz.
Redbridge Plus meets most Fridays at Goodmayes Community Centre with different quizzes and games each week. Future events include our very own charity quiz on Saturday 16th May and an art trail looking for sculptures of lions in Epping, in July.
