Everything is ship-shape as Goodmayes group head to Hastings for Pirate Day

Redbridge 18 plus, an adult group who meet up to socialise, hit the high seas and headed to Hastings to join thousands of other visitors for Pirate Day.

The event is held as part of the town’s heritage celebrations and featured performances and entertainment including cannon demonstrations, sea themed stunt action and steel pirate bands.

Afterwards they enjoyed traditional seaside pastimes including pirate style crazy golf, go-karting and a mini railway

Group member Sherry Roberts said: “Pirates Day is brilliant.

“It was fun to dress up and see all the locals in costume as well.”

This is just one of the many events attended by Redbridge 18 Plus who meet most Fridays at Goodmayes Community Centre, Goodmayes Lane, from 8.30pm.
