Redbridge 18 Plus recently celebrated its 40th birthday at their regular Friday night meeting at Goodmayes Community Centre.
Some people dressed up in ‘70s clothes to the themed party in Green Lane, Ilford and also enjoyed dancing to ‘70s themed music.
A fancy dress dress and a cake sale was also held to raise money for the Chigwell Riding Trust.
Terry Little, member of the community group said: “Everyone had a good time at the part and it was an opportunity to look at photos, events and people from earlier years.”
Additional events to mark the group’s milestone include a charity music quiz and a sponsored walk.
The group also visited Hastings recently where they stayed at the caravan resort of Combe Haven Holiday Park for a weekend away.
During the day, members explored Hastings town and the seafront where they took part in traditional seaside past-times including pirate crazy golf, go-karting, and eating ice-cream.
