Pirates Day Swashbuckling in Hastings

Redbridge 18 Plus pirate day - Ilford Clubs

Members of Redbridge 18 Plus had a barrel of laughs when they visited the seaside town of Hastings which was celebrating Pirates Day.The groups met up with West Kent 18 Plus group on their way to the East Sussex town, joining locals and visitors to dress up as pirates. This included sailors, wenches, Captain Hook and a parrot. On their visit they enjoyed street entertainment including pirate live bands and stunt-action swashbuckling with Captain Jack Sparrow.Afterwards they took part in traditional seaside pastimes on the sea front such as pirate style crazy golf, go-karting and a mini railway.Member Sherry Roberts said: “Pirates Day is brilliant. It was fun to dress up and see all the locals in costume as well.”This is just one of the great events attended by Redbridge 18 Plus who meet most Fridays at Goodmayes Community Centre, Green Lane, from 8.30pm.
