The social club went back in time as they watched a historical re-enactment.
Members visited Valence Park in Becontree Avenue, Becontree, and experienced what it might have been like during the English Civil War in the 17th century.
They watched cannon demonstrations and an army drill, which showed how soldiers used pikes and muskets.
The group then watched on as a mock battle took place.
Also on the day, members experienced camp life during the period – learning about how food was prepared and how people dressed at the time.
Member Terry Little said “It was a very good day out and everyone enjoyed it.
“I liked watching the battle simulation and the cannon demonstrations too.”
