Redbridge scored a double victory when residents Paul Savvas and Pete Newson both made it to the final of a social club's pool contest.The Redbridge 18 Plus contest, which took place in Romford, saw 16 players from the East Anglia area pitted against each other.They were split into four groups and had to play one another on a round-robin basis, with the top two players from each group going through to knock-out stages of the competition. After some close games, Paul and Pete faced each other in the final which Paul won 2-1 his third triumph in the tournament. He said: "Pete had played really well and I was a bit lucky to get the chance of the deciding frame, but it was great to have a third victory." Redbridge 18 Plus is a social group offering organised events and trips for 18 to 40 year olds.The group meets on Fridays at Redbridge Central Library, Clements Road, llford, from 8.30 to 10pm.
