Six take a punt for university challenge

Members of the Redbridge social group enjoyed a trip to the historic city of Cambridge earlier this month-Six members of Redbridge 18 Plus travelled to the rii\ tor a day taking in sights including the country's second-oldest university. The day started with an open bus tour around the town to view the Cambridge University colleges and learn about their history. Afterwards, some of the group took a punt out on the River Cam and even had a go at rowing down the river themselves. Others explored the shops and marketplace before meeting up for a meal in a riverside pub. Member Trev Eley said: "It was a good day out, the highlight for me being the punting trip, which was very relaxing except for the person on the back who was doing most of the work." Redbridge 18 Plus is a social group offering organised events and trips for 18 to 40-year olds. The group meets on Fridays at Redbridge Central Library. Clements Road. IIford. from 8.30-10pm.
