Amateur golfers from a Redbridge social group are celebrating their victory over club members from across the south east in a pitch and putt competition. Redbridge 18 Plus members threw themselves into the battle between 12 golfers to secure first and second places. The competition was held at Central Park, Dagenham last month. Club chairman Trevor Eley was beaten narrowly by three shots by winner Chris Mann. Chris said; "It was a fun, enjoyable tournament to take part in. The competition was quite tough but I am very pleased to have won." Trevor said there were a variety of good and "lucky" shots in the tournament. Redbridge 18 Plus is a social group for people aged between 18 and 40. Meetings are on Friday evenings at Redbridge Central Library, Clements Road, llford at 8.30pm.
