I’ve always liked going on boats, whether it’s a day trip or a week on the Norfolk broads.
This year’s day trip on the River Lea, organised by Francesca, was an excellent day. For starters, the weather was kinder to us than it was last year, much to the relief of everyone who went. We all got a bit cold and wet last year.
Despite the early start on a Sunday (the boat yard really should invest in a coffee machine) we all had fun, watching the wildlife and pottering along at a leisurely rate.
The brave souls who handled the mooring up and Locks seemed to enjoy that part of the day as well. It looked fun but I’d probably end up face first in the river if I went jumping about.
As with all things fun, it was over too soon, but here’s to next year’s trip.
